GENERAL NOTES

The author of this inscription from Najrān is a Minaean, who writes in Sabaic, the local language. No linguistic diagnostic feature allows to attribute the inscription to the Northern Middle Sabaic instead of the Central Middle Sabaic. However, the text, which probably dates between the 1st c. BCE and the 1st CE, likely relates to the Amīritic cultural milieu of Najrān.
