TEXT

   1  Khlm
   2  w-S²ʾbt w-[.]rʿ [ʾ]—
   3  mh Yṯʿʾmr
   4  b-ʿm mrʾ-hn
   5  Dnm w-ʾr[ydy]

Apparatus
2-3According to Garbini, the l.2 should be integrated w-[ḏ]rʿ-[h]m(y) "and their offspring", so that this inscription has an historical significance because it demonstrates that the mukarrib paternity is adoptive and not natural. Khlm and S²ʾbt should be therefore the true parents of Yṯʿʾmr. If, on the contrary, it is assumed, following Robin, that the third word is a female name, the allusion to a mukarrib ascending disappears.
4mrʾn-hn emended as a determinate dual by Garbini.
