GENERAL NOTES

Despite the fragmentary state, the mention of ʿṯtr S²rqn and of Ys¹rm Yhnʿm (probably the father of S²mr Yhrʿs²) lets us date the inscription at the end of the third century AD, after the conquest of Ḥaḍramawt (see the king's title at the end). Palaeographically, it is noteworthy the shape of the letter r, seen in some inscriptions of the southern plateau (see BynM 410).
For this reason, the inscription is hypothetically inserted in the Corpus of Southern Middle Sabaic.

TEXT

      [... ...]
   1  [... ... ]ḏ-Mlḥyn ṯwb[... ... ]
   2  [... ...]w mʿrbynm bn[ ... ...]
   3  [... ... m]qm ʿ<ṯ>tr [S²]rqn w-b-rdʾ[ ... ...]
   4  [... ...]n Ys¹rm Yhnʿm w-bn[... ... ]
   5  [... ... ](Ḥḍ)rm(t) [w-](Ymnt) [... ...]

Apparatus
4The letter n of Yhnʿm is reversed. We can perhaps integrate [... ... b]n Ys¹rm Yhnʿm w-bn[-hw ... ...]. The king in the lacuna might be S²mr Yhrʿs².
