GENERAL NOTES

Stein's classification of this text as Northern Sabaic is based, besides the probable origin from Najrān, on the coordination of two main clauses by means of the particle f- (Stein 2007: 44, n. 110).

Apparatus
4-5qr[b ḏ-h]ḏbḥ (Jamme 1970); qr[b ḏ-]ḏbḥ (Beeston 1988). The proposed integration is by Stein, who accepts Jamme's hypothesis regarding the length of the lacuna.
7According to Jamme, hṣrf is a sure reading, but all the other editors since Garbini 1974: 299 read hẓrf.

   3  die Widmung gewidmet, welche er ihm versprochen hat, dass er
   4  [ihm] (nämlich) ein weiteres Opfer in Maʿīn darbringen werde in gleicher
   5  [Weise, wie (?)] er ihm neun Op[fer] dargebracht
   6  sowie seine Söhne veranlasst hat,drei [Opf]er darzubringen.
   7  Ferner hat er ihm geweihräuchert (?). So möge
   8  sein (sc. ʿAṯtars) [Ein]verständnis gross sein gegenüber allem, um das er ihn bitten wird
