   1  ʾmt ʾbh confessed and did penance
   2  to ḏ-S¹mwy, Master of Byn, because
   3  a man approached her sexually in the third day of the
   4  pilgrimage, when she was having her period, and then he went away and
   5  he did not wash himself; and (because) she (?) a man and
   6  [... ...]
5Both Robin and Stein do not translate ʿwdt. The verb, which in Beeston et al. 1982 is given the meaning of "return", could be a 02 stem; Mascitelli suggests "e lei ha continuato (?)". The following object, mrʾ, does not have the -n ending, and so it cannot refer to the same man mentioned above.

NotesAccording to the CIH, the provenance is Haram, as also suggested by the mention of the temple of ḏ-S¹mwy bʿl Byn. Ryckmans 1945, instead, cites a private communication by A. Grohmann attesting Kamna as the place of provenance on the basis of Glaser's notes.
