CULTURAL NOTES
According to Kropp, the pendant with the short expiatory text and the representation of the sin committed was bore by the penitent, made process ignominiously around the town or the temple after he had confessed but before the final sentence of expiation fines and rites had been pronuounced. This would explain the shorter formula with respect to the expiatory plaquettes.
