TRANSLATIONS

English

1  [... ...] and besides they brought into cultivation in the land [... ...]
2  [... ...] their [... ...] and four cereals crops and what they have gathered (or: "what is collected, i.e. what is found") [... ...]
3  [... ...] and the open areas and the cisterns until they (?) reached [... ...]
   4  [... ...] of them both [... ...] abundant land (?), and they planted it and enlarged [... ...]
   5  [... ...] ... and the walls they had demolished and enlarged [... ...]
   6  [... ...] the hall of their house ḏ-Ẓwrm, and they plastered [... ...]
3Contrary to Arbach's translation, rḥbn and brkn must be considered as plurals.
4"ʿqrm en abondance" (Arbach). Our translation with a generic "land", referring to Beeston et al. 1982: 18, seems to fit better the context, in respect to "partie postérieure du réservoir" as suggested for MAFYS-Ḍuraʾ 3, 6-7, 10.
The meaning is based on Ar ʿaqār "land yielding revenues", especially palm-trees (on this term, see Avanzini 1978: 60-64).
5"les parois (?) qui avaient été détruites; quant à  l'espace ouvert" (Arbach).
