Apparatus
1Abū l-Ḥasan followed Farès-Drappeau reads the first personal name as Rynh rather than Qynh. They also do not read the last letters of this line.
2Abū l-Ḥasan reads ʾṭll h-ṭll for ʾẓll h-ẓll.
4The last letter t is not read by Abū l-Ḥasan. However, it can be seen on the photograph.
5This line is not read by Abū l-Ḥasan and Farès-Drappeau.

TRANSLATIONS

   1  Qynh son of ʿbdḫrg S²-
   2  nʾh performed this ẓll-ceremony
   3  at Khl for the sake of the valley
   4  and that which belongs to him in Bdr for ḏ-Ġbt
   5  and so (fa)vour him and [......].
4The word ʿirḍ in Arabic can mean "the side of a valley, "a valley", "the low ground of a settled area", "a valley in which there are many palm trees" (Lane), etc. all of which would be appropriate to the oasis of al-ʿUlā.
