TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  ʾbkrb and his son ʾbs²mr, of the family Rs²wn, those of (the tribe) Bklm, mqtwyy of S¹ʿdʾwm ʾs¹ʿd and his brother ʾḥmd ʾzʾd, of the families S¹ʾrn and Mḥylm and ḏ-Nʿmt and Mwḍʿm and ḏ-Rs¹mm, ʾqwl of the two tribes Bklm, the quarter of Rydt, and S¹hmn, dedicated to ʾlmqh Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm, the two bulls in bronze which ʾbkrb promised and acknowledged to ʾlmqh to dedicate to Him as He had ordered him in His oracle, so that ʾlmqh Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm, might protect and save His servant ʾbs²mr, son of Rs²wn, from the sickness and the distress which he suffered in the town of Ḥmdw in the land of Bklm.
   2  In praise because He fulfilled His servant ʾbkrb, son of Rs²wn, in the favours he requested from Him; may ʾlmqh Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm, continue to grant His two servants ʾbkrb and ʾbs²mr, of the family Rs²wn, the goodwill and the satisfaction of their two lords S¹ʿdʾwm and ʾḥmd, of the family S¹ʾrn, and the satisfaction of their tribe Bklm; may ʾlmqh Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm, grant them healthy male children and good crops and harvests in their wādī-side cultivations and their fields; may ʾlmqh, Lord of ʾwm, grant them good affairs and news, and may ʾlmqh Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm, deliver them from any evil and mischief and from the calumny, malice and slander of any enemy and evildoer, the one they are aware of and the one they are not aware of. By ʾlmqh Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm.
