TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  ʿmrm Yġnm and his brothers
   2  ʿBydm and Ys¹rm, of the family Ḏrḥn,
   3  mqtt of Dwmn ḏ-Ġymn, dedicated to ʾlmqh
   4  Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm, the statue in bronze
   5  which they promised Him for the safety of their lord
   6  Dwmn ḏ-Ġymn and for their safety and for the safety
   7  of their sisters; and may ʾlmqh, Lord of
   8  ʾwm, continue to grant to them the goodwill and the satisfaction of their lord
   9  Dwmn ḏ-Ġymn, and may ʾlmqh deliver them
  10  from harm, malice and calumny of any enemy,
  11  the one they are aware of and the one they are not aware of;
  12  may ʾlmqh repeatedly save His servants
  13  ʿmrm and his brothers ʿbydm and Yrs¹m, by
  14  ʾlmqh Ṯhwn, Lord of ʾwm.
7Beeston in CIAS translates ʾḫt as "fellow-clansmen", commenting "hitherto unattested scriptio defectiva for ʾḪWT", but Jamme prefers to retain "sister". So also Stein 2003 a: 51, fn. 19.
