   3  l-hmw Ydʿʾl Ḏrḥ w-mḥr hḥr-hmw ḥg s¹ṭr ms³ndn
   4  ḏ-s²ym b-byt ʾlmqh b-(Ṣ)yḥn wrḫm ḏ-S¹ḥr ḏ-rs²wt
   5  ʾbkrb bn Wddʾl bn ʾlqwm w-mṯl ḏn wqrn b-

TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  Krbʾl Byn son of Yṯʿʾmr decreed for Gʾzn and Ḫlb
   2  and Ns²n and Mwr that it should not be issued in the territory of Ṣyḥn the tribute that
   3  Ydʿʾl Ḏrḥ levied on them, and (should not be valid) the decree he issued for them, as he wrote in the inscription
   4  which he placed in the temple of ʾlmqh in Ṣyḥn in the month of ḏ-S¹ḥr, during the priesthood of
   5  ʾbkrb son of Wddʾl son of ʾlqwm; and a copy of this document (is) in
   6  Ḥḍr.

CULTURAL NOTES

In this inscription, placed in the temple of ʾlmqh, the Sabaean king Krbʾl Byn son of Yṯʿʾmr cancels the tributs previously levied by Ydʿʾl Ḏrḥ on some areas of the Tihāma. It is interesting that the text records that a copy of the decree is kept in a different site.
