GENERAL NOTES

The editors date the text palaeographically to the 1st-2nd century AD. The text is incised in double stroke.

TEXT

   1  ḥgr ʿzyn
   2  b-ʿly Tnʿm w-wld[.]

Apparatus
2Tnʿm is attested as a masculine and feminine name. In this case, the editors suggest that it refers to a woman because the godddes ʿzyn was primarily worshipped by women in everyday life.
3The missing final letter was probably a suffix personal pronoun (-h?).

TRANSLATIONS

English

1  Protection of (the goddess) ʿUzzayān
2  be upon Tanʿum and her children.
2The restoration of the pronoun "her" is only one possibility: it is actually missing on the object.
