GENERAL NOTES

The text is divided in three sections, nominated by Robin as A, B and C. The section A (ll. 1-4) is a rectangle divided by four horizontal stripes on which is engraved the first part of the inscription. The section B (ll. 5-6) lies under the section A, after a split of the rock; it is distinguished by two stripes of unequal length, delimited on the right side by a vertical line. The section C (ll. 7-9) lies on the right side of the section B.

CULTURAL NOTES

S²mr (l.7) is probably S²mr Yhrʿs², son of Ys¹rm Yhnʿm, king of Sabaʾ and dhū-Raydān.
Robin hypothesizes that a probable reconstruction of Ẓafār, after an occupation of the Abyssinians, is quoted in the text (l. 4).
