GENERAL NOTES

Gajda proposes a date around the 5th century BC, suggesting to identify ʾlyfʿ Rym with the king mentioned in the inscriptions Maʿīn 7/2, Maʿīn 15/1, Maʿīn 17/3 and Shaqab 6. Avanzini 2005, on the basis of a palaeographic and stylistic analysis, suggests to date the artefact to the 8th-7th century BC, postulating the existence of at least two homonym kings ʾlyfʿ Rym. The most archaic one would be the author of Gajda 2001 and Shaqab 6.
