CULTURAL NOTES
The dedication to the Haramite god Mtbnṭyn and the mention of the kings ʾlkbr ʾmr and Ys²hrmlk Nbṭ show that this text dates back to a period of independence of Haram. The palaeographical style suggest a dating to the end of period A or beginning of period B.
This text shows that the Banāt ʿAd sanctuary in Haram, which was originally called Hdnn (Haram 3 and 4), did not change name in ʾrṯt when it was consecrated to Ḥalfan towards the end of the I millennium BC, but earlier, when it was still devoted to the cult of Mtbnṭyn.
