CULTURAL NOTES

The event of Yuhaqim's war against the tribes of dhu-Raydān dates back to the last decades of the 1st century AD.
The city of ʿUlla is mentioned in al-Hamdānī as a territory belonging to Sarū Ḥimyar.
Ṯmr can be identified with Jabal Ṯamar. The mountain was then the sacred place of the god S²yʾn.
