Notes on support and decorationsBronze openwork small plaque with the representation of a heraldic composition, constituted by a man (the hero) between two rampant ibexes. The man, with his legs bend and a long beard, is small in comparison with the two animals. Above his head there is a kind of banner with the representation of the crescent moon and disc.
The hero places his hands on the animal belly, while the two ibexes, perfectly specular, have their heads turned towards the interior and an anterior leg leaning on the man shoulders.
This small plaque was originally attached to another object, as shown by two holes at the top and at bottom.

CULTURAL NOTES

The iconographic motive of the so-called “lord of animals” belongs to a Mesopotamian ancient tradition.
