| Notes on support and decorations | "La bande médiane comporte douze animaux, issant de rinceaux et affrontés deux à deux. Tous ces animaux sont différents: trois ailés (deux béliers ? et un chien), des bouquetins, un cerf, un lion" (Breton 1993: 23). |

CULTURAL NOTES
The decorative motifs show a strong Roman influence, but the bowl appears to have been produced by a provincial artisan. It is probably a local product.
