Notes on support and decorationsThis object was originally a round altar with truncated conical base, then turned upside down and reemployed as incense burner, as showed by the opposite orientation of the inscription (which belongs to the secondary object's use) and the symbol of crescent moon and disc (carved in low relief inside a rectangular recessed panel on the original upper element).
In the new use of the object, the bottom base, through a carved cavity, becomes the upper censer of the incense burner. The inscription shows a rough style compared to the figurative motif. Surface well polished.
