The editor dates the text around the end of the 1st cent. BC or the beginning of the 1st cent. AD, probably just after CSAI II, 14 (50-20 BC). |
3 | "[...] the letter t seems to be followeed by an n. The form ʿtny can be then analysed as a T-stem from the base stem of the root ʿWN/ʿNW 'to help' with a weak letter y instead of w. [...] An alternative reading, which I find less likely, is ʿTS¹Y 'he sought to obtain' from ʿS¹Y 'to do, make, acquire'" (Prioletta 2013: 118, fn. 52). |
