Textual typology | Dedicatory text |
Stein's classification of this text as Northern Sabaic is based, besides the probable origin from Najrān, on the coordination of two main clauses by means of the particle f- (Stein 2007: 44, n. 110). |
4-5 | qr[b ḏ-h]ḏbḥ (Jamme 1970); qr[b ḏ-]ḏbḥ (Beeston 1988). The proposed integration is by Stein, who accepts Jamme's hypothesis regarding the length of the lacuna. |
7 | According to Jamme, hṣrf is a sure reading, but all the other editors since Garbini 1974: 299 read hẓrf. |
7-8 | For the restoration f-l tʿs[¹mn ʾ]ḏn-hw, in contrast with the previous editors (tʿsqnn) and on the basis of Riyāḍ 302F8, see Nebes 1994: 58. |
8 | Jamme defended his reading ys¹trbn-hw against yktrbn-hw proposed by Beeston 1988: 19. However, the latter should be retained on the basis of the comparison with Riyāḍ 302F8, l. 11. |
11-12 | mhr[gm ṣdqm b-ʿṯtr ḏ-Qbḍm] (Jamme 1970). mhr[t ... ...] (Beeston 1988). |
