GENERAL NOTES

The graffito could be Ḥaḍramitic thanks to its desinence "hn". In Ḥaḍramawt there is a modern town (mentioned also by al-Hamdānī in the 10th century) called el-Hagarayn, which could be identified with the ancient toponym of this graffito (cf. Colin 1988: 36).

Apparatus
1The letters "ḫ" and "n" are reversed. The letters "l" and "g" are identical.

Dḫym: G. Ryckmans proposes the reading Ḫdym of the initial monogram.

Hgryhn: G. Ryckmans reads Hllyhn.
