CULTURAL NOTES

This inscription is one of the archaic penitential texts in which a king and his people expiate a sin towards the god. In this case, syntactical and lexical difficulties make specific points of the text unclear, but we can affirm that the offence consisted in a wrong use of the water resources, which were under the authority of the god, by the community.
