GENERAL NOTES
The dating of this text is uncertain. It shows a palaeography which is typical of geographically outlying areas (see the shape of w). Pirenne noted the archaic character of the writing: "le m à courbe et à pointes sur la ligne ou le ḏ à barres obliques, le r presque serpentin". However, the presence of double names - with the second ones bi-consonantal, which is usual in the late Qatabanic period and in Marginal Qatabanic, the verb s¹ʿs²q and the expression b-rdʾ rule out the possibility of a date in period C for this text.
