TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  Reminder of the tribe, that of the masters of the two cities,
   2  each called Ms¹wrt: their lords, their small landowners,
   3  their ʾs¹ḫ, their artisans, and their
   4  servants that they swore an oath of
   5  obedience to their Patron Tʾlb Rymm,
   6  He of the mountain ʿdf, according to which they will not graze
   7  [...] in the area reserved to Tʾlb, He of the mountain ʿdf,
   8  any small livestock, healthy or dying.
   9  The one that will be established with certainty that he did graze in that
  10  reserved area, he was condemned to pay in favor of Tʾ-
  11  lb and of the tribe a fine of fifty blṭ of exact
  12  weight or his hand was preserved in the middle of
  13  the area reserved to Tʾlb. This decree was established
  14  as Tʾlb prescribed in His oracle
  15  for the sake of their tribe.
3Frantsouzoff 2016: 86 translates ʾs¹ḫm "Blacks" i.d. "servants from Africa".
