1 Thawbān et ses fils Aḥgarum et Thawbʾil, banū Aḥgarum, 2 vassaux des banū Ṣādiqʾil, ont dédié à Almaqah, seigneur de Awwām, 3 cette plaque de bronze et leurs fils, ce que leur à ordonné Almaqah dans 4 un oracle, lorsqu'ils ont intercédé auprès d'Almaqah au sujet des spoliations qu'ils 5 ont pratiquées, des procès qu'ils ont suscités et du meurtre qu'ont commis Dhahbum 6 et Yasʾal, banū Aḥgarum; et parce que s'est acquitté et a payé le prix du sang Haw- 7 tarʿathat ibn Aḥgarum, par (l'intermédiaire de) son chef Dhahbum, et ils obtinrent l'objet de 8 leur supplique de la part d'Almaqah, parce qu'avait frappé Hawtarʿathat 9 ibn Aḥgarum, l'esclave Thawbʾil, esclave des banū Aḥgarum, et 10 à la suite de ce coup mourut Thawbʾil; et parce que se son acquittés 11 Thawbān et ses fils Aḥgarum et Thawbʾil, lorsque 12 Dhahbum ibn Aḥgarum servait comme soldat avec les hommes qui se jetèrent sur Wahbum, esclave de dhū-Alam, et le tuèrent, 13 lorsque fut tué cet esclave; et 14 pour que les banū Aḥgarum ne se privent pas des eaux 15 du sanctuaire d'Almaqah et pour qu'ils arrosent les semailles sur 16 la zone alluviale d'Abyān; et Almaqah a prescrit aux banū Aḥgarum 17 d'écrire cette supplique, de faire amende honorable et de s'abstenir de choses semblabes 18 à ces affaires. 1 ṮWBN und seine beiden Söhne ʾḤGRM und ṮWBʾL, Angehörige der (Sippe) ʾḤGRM 2 Diener der Banū ṢDQʾL, haben ʾLMQH, dem Herrn 3 von ʾWM, die(se) Tafel aus Bronze sowie ihre Söhne gewidmet, was ihnen (nämlich) ʾLMQH 4 in einem Orakel befohlen hatte, als sie bei ʾLMQH ein gutes Vorzeichen 5 erbeten hatten bezüglich der Gewalttaten, die sie erlitten haben, und bezüglich der Affairen, welche sie verloren haben und bezüglich des Tötungsdeliktes, bei welchem ḎHBM 6 und YSʾL, die beiden Angehörigen der (Sippe) ʾḤGRM, getötet worden waren, und bezüglich dessen, daß 7 HWTRʿṮT, der Angehörige der (Sippe) ʾḤGRM, zugrunde und dahingegangen ist mit (dem Tod) seines Freundes (?) ḎHBM. Und sie erhielten 8 ihren Bescheid von ʾLMQH (des Inhalts) daß HWRTʿṮT 9 der Angehörige der (Sippe) ʾḤGRM, den Diener ṮWBʾL, den Diener der Banū ʾḤGRM, 10 geschlagen hatte und von jenem Schlag ṮWBʾL gestorben war; 11 und daß es ṮWBN und seinen Söhnen ʾḤGRM und TWBʾL zu Ohren 12 gekommen war, daß bei den Leuten, welche WHBM, den Diener der (Sippe) D-ʾLM, angegriffen und getötet hatten, 13 auch ḎHBM, der Angehörige der (Sippe) ʾḤGRM, Dienst tat, als jener Diener getötet wurde; und daß sich die Banū ʾḤGRM nicht scheuen, 14 von dem Wasser des Tempels von ʾLMQH (zu nehmen), und daß 15 sie (damit) die Erstbewässerung vornehmen auf der 16 Oase von ʾBYN. Und ʾLMQH hat den Banū ʾḤGRM 17 befohlen, diesen Bescheid aufzuschreiben sowie Wiedergutmachung zu leisten und sich 18 (künftig) vor ähnlichen wie diesen Dingen zu hüten. 1 Ṯwbn and his two sons, ʾḥgrm and Ṯwbʾl, of the family ʾḥgrm, 2 vassals of the family Ṣdqʾl, dedicated to ʾlmqh, Lord of 3 ʾwm, the tablet of bronze and their sons, as ʾlmqh ordered them 4 in His oracle, when they asked a good omen to ʾlmqh, regarding the violence 5 they have endured, the things they have lost and the crime by which Ḏhbm 6 and Ys²ʾl, of the family ʾḥgrm, were killed and about the fact that Hw- 7 trʿṯt, of the family ʾḥgrm, was ruined and "lost" for his man (for the death of his man) Ḏhbm. Then they received the 8 judgement of ʾlmqh: Hwtrʿṯt , 9 of the family ʾḥgrm, hit his servant Ṯwbʾl, servant of the family ʾḥgrm, and 10 just for that beating Ṯwbʾl died; news came 11 to the ears of Ṯwbn and of his sons ʾḥgrm and Ṯwbʾl that 12 with the people who had attacked and killed Whbm, servant of ḏ-ʾlm, Ḏhbm, 13 of the family ʾḥgrm, had taken an active part, when that servant was killed. 14 The members of the family ʾḥgrm did not hesitate to take from the water 15 of the temple of ʾlmqh and they irragated, through time, 16 the valley of ʾbyn. ʾlmqh ordered to the members of the family ʾḥgrm 17 to write this judgement and to make reparation and to avoid similar actions 18 in the future.ʾlmqh granted His protection to Ṯwbn and his sons ʾ- 19 ḥgrm and Ṯwbʾl, of the family ʾḥgrm, and to their sons and their properties. 20 By ʿṯtr, by ʾlmqh, by ḏt Ḥmym and by ḏt Bdʿn. |

CULTURAL NOTES
The authors of the text ask Almaqah to issue a judgment on two murders committed by some members of the family ʾḥgrm. The series of events leading to these criminal acts is narrated in the text. An infringment of different nature is also recorded: the exploitment of the waters of the temple by members of the clan. The penitential character of the text is evident from the command of the god not to reiterate the crimes.
