Jamme 1971: 46 rejects the CIH translation of mlʿb (“solum irrigatum”) and considers the substantive to be an attribute of the name ʿlhn, comparing it to the Syriac “to passionately desire” and therefore translating it as “enchanté de”, which appears highly unlikely. mlʿb is attested in CIH 37, 7: mlʿb ʿbrn “irrigated land of the terraced fields”. The noun is only found in inscriptions from the high plateau.
