Even though he was the brother of the king Mlkwqh Ryd and had an inscribed throne on which a typical royal action (s¹ḥdṯ) is recorded, there is no proof that ʿmwtr Ys¹rn actually ruled. The absence of the monogram and of the symbol "b" typical of the Nashshanite dynasty (present on the thrones Garbini-Francaviglia 1 and 2), together with the presence of the enigmatic word "lbw" (a title?), suggest to Garbini that ʿmwtr Ys¹rn could have been a co-regent of his brother. |
1 | The word "lbw" is only a possible rendering of the signs l and b, with a w inscribed inside the b. A reading "lwb" cannot be excluded. Its meaning is unknown, it could be a title. It is unsure if ʿmwtr Ys¹rn was a king. |
