GENERAL NOTES

Pirenne (CIAS ii: 199-200) believes this inscription is palaeographically later than the text A, and was engraved subsequently, after a reemployment of the object.
Pirenne’s interpretation was criticized by Jamme (1988: 25-30), who also questioned the posteriority of RES 3902 n. 120B and the reemployment itself.
Years before the text was edited in CIAS, and without being taken into account by Pirenne, Jamme (1971: 139) had published RES 3902 n. 120, suggesting to join the text B with the fragment RES 4155, housed at the National Berlin Museum.
