| 1 | Abū l-Ḥasan followed Farès-Drappeau reads the first personal name as Rynh rather than Qynh. They also do not read the last letters of this line. |

| 4 | The word ʿirḍ in Arabic can mean "the side of a valley, "a valley", "the low ground of a settled area", "a valley in which there are many palm trees" (Lane), etc. all of which would be appropriate to the oasis of al-ʿUlā. |
