Notes on support and decorations | Alabaster male head with long neck. This head was probably inserted inside a niche, as suggested by its unfinished top and back and the lack of ears. The face features are rather schematic: projecting forehead, incised eyes (with drilled pupils) and eyebrows, long nose and very small mouth. The beard is realized with small and dense drilled holes. The alabaster shows many orange veining. The niche is a modern arrangement. |
