Notes on support and decorations"The lid shows in raised relief a mother-goddess suckling an infant and wielding a thyrsos in her right hand. She has narrow, twisted locks of hair. Around the box, three men contend with lions. One waves a dead animal at a charging lion; a second brandishes a club while holding off a lion with his round shield; and the third fights another lion with spear and round shield. A rosette fills the base of the piece." (Kitchen 2009: 247).
