Notes on support and decorations | Parallelepipedon seal in white marble, decorated on four faces. On the faces a winged ibex is engraved. According to Pirenne's description in CIAS, on the two lateral faces and on the main face, above the inscription, the animal is represented moving towards the left, with the head turned backwards, the back paws under the abdomen and the front paws stretched forward. Only on the main non inscribed face, the animal seems recumbent and something is represented in front of it. |
