Notes on support and decorationsWhite limestone statuette of seated woman, with a very rigid appearance. The lower portion of the figure consists of a cubic base comprising a stool and the human legs, which is wider than the rest of the sculpture. The legs and seat comprise almost exactly a third of the total height. The elongated torso shows arms stretching out, small circular breasts positioned high on the chest and angular shoulders. The small head, flat at the top, ends at the hairline; the flat triangular face shows features carved in very low relief.

CULTURAL NOTES

This statuette is perfectly comparable with an exemplar housed in London, BM 1280, and another one in Rome, Ja 464.
