Notes on support and decorations | Bronze protome of a bull, originally emerging from a handle of a lamp with elongated pear-shaped body, similar to BM 139621 and RES 3533. The animal is leaping; its anterior legs are lost, as well as the horns. The muzzle is well characterized with lateral protruding eyes, multiple skin folds and a triangular element – filled with wavy parallel lines (probably representing a tuft of hair) – between the horns. A tube-shaped element, with dense parallel notches (a snake?), surrounds the bull neck. |
