Notes on support and decorations | The object could be the back of a throne, as suggested not only by the peculiar decoration, but also by the remains of the horizontal slab probably belonging to the seat. The throne back is decorated with a series of lateral, superimposed ibexes, four for each side; the stylized animals, standing on protruding brackets, have big curved horns, long ears and rectangular beards, well characterized legs and hooves. On the top of the slab the decoration consists in a row of ten standing ibexes, followed by a series of horizontal grooves and a row of dentils. High relief and incision. |
