Notes on support and decorations | The upper part of a rectangular dark yellow sandstone slab with a subtly modelled male face carved in high relief. The face has deep oval eye-sockets, with missing inlays, a straight brow ridge with broad rectangular forehead, protruding ears, a low set pouting mouth, and a curtain beard indicated by a thin ledge cut back from the narrow jaw. The jaw line, low set mouth, and large eyes give the face a simian appearance. The head ends at very straight hair line, flush with the upper edge of the stela. The lower part (possibly with an inscription) is broken. |
