1 S¹mhyfʿ ʾs²wʿ, Mʿdkrb Ymgd, 2 Lḥyʿt Yrḫm and S²rḥbʾl Ykml, sons of Lḥyʿ- 3 t Yrḫm, those of the clan Yzʾn, Gdnm, Bs³ʾyn, Y- 4 lġb, Ġymn, Yṣbr, Myfʿ, Grdn, Rḫyt, 5 their tribes Ḍyftn, Rṯḥm, S¹ʾkln, S³krd and Mṭl- 6 ftn, army and kabirs of their tribes S¹ybn, Ḥaḍramawt, Qanaʾ and ʾ- 7 mrʿn wrote this rock-inscription, when they came back from ʾs¹ʿy after plundering the tribe of M- 8 lkn and they hunted in their expedition one hundred 9 and twenty-seven wild asses. CULTURAL NOTES
The text commemorates a military expedition of Yazanites against ʾs¹ʿyn, identified with al-Hamdānī's al-Asʿāʾ, a city located in the region of Mahra.
On their return to home, they also perform a hunt, which however has lost the sacred significance it had in previous times.
