   2  qmn w-Ḥfnm w-ʿqb ḏ-Hmdn w-kbr Gbrn |
   3  brʾw w-hqs²bn w-hs²qrn mʿwnn Hṣlḥn
   4  w-mḥwl-hmw Yġl w-mḥrb-hmw Mdt
   5  w-s¹qf-hmw Kwkbn b-rdʾ ʾln ḏ-b-s¹myn
   6  l-ḥyw ʾmrʾ-hmw w-l-ḥyw ʾfs¹-hmw ʾmn

TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  ʾlṯwb Ydḥq and his son ʾyfʿ Yrm of the family of Fw-
   2  qmn and Ḥfnm, governor of Hmdn and kbr of Gbrn
   3  built, completed and covered with a roof the residence Hṣlḥn
   4  and their residence for guests Ygl and their hall Mdt,
   5  their covered room Kwkbn with the help of ʾln, who is in the heaven.
   6  For the life of their lords and for the life of themselves! Amen.

CULTURAL NOTES

The monogram S¹lwm "shalōm" and the word ʾmn "amen" at the end of the text are the reasons why Robin maintains that the dedicants are Jews and that the text is dated at before the Abyssinian invasion (525 AD).
