GENERAL NOTES

The belonging of this inscription to the Minaic corpus is based on Hommel's proposed reading of the central sequence of signs in Halévy's copy as s¹qny. While Yʾws¹ʾl and Mrd are well attested in the Minaic corpus, as well as the spelling of the deity ḏt Ns²q without mimation, few Minaic dedicatory inscriptions feature the verb s¹qny alone instead of s³lʾ, and no other Minaic inscription provides attestation of the word wldm. The inscription comes from Haram, where both languages are attested. The linguistic attribution remains therefore uncertain.

Apparatus
RES restores H]nʾ Yʾws¹ʾl, and reports in the apparatus Hommel's suggestion of the integration of a w- between the two names.
In Halevy's copy, the reading of the verb is very uncertain: |||nh. The interpretation of this sequence of signs as s¹qny is Hommel's.
ʾḏ[bḥm is RES's restoration.

NotesThis text was recorded as coming from Al-Firʿ (Haram). Robin did not include it among Haram's inscriptions in the first volume of the Inventaire des Inscriptions Sudarabiques.
The goddess ḏt Ns²q is never attested in the Haramite corpus; however, this might be one of the few texts from Haram of period B, when the cult of the goddess was spread in the Minaic Jawf (see also M 18).
