Apparatus
1In RES the text begins with [Mʿd]krb mlk ...
At the middle of the line: S²hhrm ʿln bn Ṣdqʾl.
2At the beginning: RES reads ʿṯtr S²rqn instead of S¹yn.
At the middle: [b-ʾḫwt ʾ]ḫ-s¹.
At the end: w-b ʾls¹mʿ instead of w-wḍʾ ʾls¹mʿ; Bron reads: w-b ʾ](ḫh)-s¹, but ʾḫh is a plural.
2-3In RES the text ends with b-ʾḏn ʿṯtr ḏ-Qbḍm.

TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  ʾls¹mʿ Ḏbyn, son of Mlkkrb, king of Ḥaḍramawt, dedicated to ʿṯtr ḏ-Qbḍm the tower Ḫrf, tower that his uncle S²hrm ʿlhn, son of Ydʿʾl, king of Ḥaḍramawt, built;
   2  by ʿṯtr ḏ-Qbḍm and by S¹yn and by Wdm and by Nkrḥm and by his brother ʾbydʿ Yṯʿ, king of Maʿin and by his tribe Maʿin; and ʾls¹mʿ dedicated to ʿṯtr ḏ-Q-
   3  bḍm, to S¹yn, to Wdm and to Nkrḥm himself, his faculties, his offspring and his possession.

CULTURAL NOTES

This text commemorates the dedication to ʿṯtr ḏ-Qbḍm by ʾls¹mʿ Ḏbyn son of Mlkkrb king of Ḥḍrmt of some construction activities that were carried out on the walls of Maʿīn by his uncle, S²hrm ʿlhn son of Ydʿʾl king of Ḥḍrmt.
