1The restoration is proposed on the basis of YM 2009. In the word Hʿḏbwd, Halévy read two word separators instead of the letter b.

CULTURAL NOTES

According to Maʿīn 39 and 43, ʾbydʿ associated to power Yṯʿʾl, probably his son. As for the fragmentary inscription Maʿīn 43, the names of the kings are mentioned in the date, while in Maʿīn 39 in the formula of alliance (b-ʾḫwt ʾbydʿ w-Yṯʿʾl ). This inscription, known only by a copy by J. Halévy, has much in common with YM 2009 as they seem to have more or less the same text and the same author, a priest of Wd. They were probably written at some distance in time, as they record the coregencies of different kings. As YM 2009, Maʿīn 39 probably recorded also the name of the Sabaean kings after the Minaean ones in the formula of alliance.
