TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  Whbʿṯt Yfd and his sons Rṯdṯwn ʾ-
   2  zʾd, Hwfʿṯt Yhs²ʿ, Whbʾwm Y-
   3  rḥb and S¹ʿdṯwn, descendants of Gdnm, did set the two door
   4  leaves before (or: in front of) their ṣrḥt (?) Tfḍ, by the power
   5  of their lord Krbʾl Wtr Yhnʿm, king
   6  of Sabaʾ, son of Whbʾl Yḥz, king of Sabaʾ.

NotesAccording to CIH this inscription, which is now reemployed in the Ṣanʿāʾ's Great Mosque, may come from the royal palace Gumdan. However, as also stated by Mordtmann and Mittwoch: the certain provenance remains unknown.
