GENERAL NOTES

CIH reports and emendates Mohl's edition (to say Fresnel's texts, in Journal Asiatique I, 1845, 180, 189), while Rhodokanakis Glaser's estampages of Gl 482 and 483. According to Jamme 1962 a: 344-345, the text Ja 879 (cf. Jamme 1955 i: 57 and 33) is a spurious copy of CIH 373. Cf. Wissmann 1976 a: 376, 431-432.

Apparatus
1CIH emendates Mohl's tlt in zlt, but Rhodokanakis reports Glaser's note: "die beiden "t" sehr deutlich".
CIH emendates Mohl's lwbn in gwbn, as it is also in Glaser's copies.

TRANSLATIONS

English

1  Krbʾl Wtr Yhnʿm king of Sabaʾ and ḏu-Raydan, son of Ḏmrʿly Byn, and Hlkʾmr son of Krbʾl founded the completion of the work in stone of the gwbn (?) for ʾlmqh for the safety of the palace S¹lḥn and the town of Mryb.
1The translation of tlt nkl gwbn is dubious. Rhodokanakis: "haben erneut, was verfallen war vom kunstvoll durchbrochenen Mauerwerk".
