| Arbach and Schiettecatte edited al-Jawf 04.18 and al-Jawf 04.19 A as separate text; Multhoff and Stein recognized the two fragments as parts of the same inscription. Period C or D. Arbach and Schiettecatte date the text to the 2nd century AD. |

1 Es ist [nicht] erlaubt, [von jeglichen] Inventar(gegenständen) aus 2 [...] und Bronze, welche sich in den Tempeln von ʿ[ṯtr ḏ-G]rbm und 3 ʾrnydʿ, dem (göttlichen) Patron, sowie (im) Tempel der "Söhne" eines (göttlichen) Patrons befinden, aus ihren Tempeln wegzunehmen, wegzutragen und sich anzueig[nen (?)], 4 wie sie in ihrem Orakel befohlen haben. 5 Und wer von jenen Inventar(gegenständen) wegträgt, über dem soll die "Verordnung (bezüglich) Diebstahls" sein, ausser 6 (im Falle) der Schmuckstücke, mit welchen er die Skulpturen der Götter von 7 Tempel zu Tempel führt. |

CULTURAL NOTES
This legal text, based on the oracles of ʿṯtr ḏ-Grb and ʾrnydʿ, condemns the removal of furniture from their sanctuaries, an act that is to be treated as a theft, except for the case of the transport of furniture from a sanctuary to another sanctuary.
