GENERAL NOTES

We date the text, on the palaeographical basis, to the first half of the VII century BC. It cannot be excluded that the king ʾbydʿ mentioned in this text is ʾbydʿ Yfs² son of Nbṭʾl of the inscriptions of the temple of Nkrḥ in Qarnaw (Maʿīn 102-111).

CULTURAL NOTES

The text is dedicated by a priest of S¹wr. Note that in l.3 S¹wr seems to be a name of family or place ("ʾlʾlt S¹wr"). Following the reasoning proposed for Gbʾn in Maʿīn 113, we may hypothesize that the family S¹wr worshipped an eponymous founder.
