GENERAL NOTES
| It is highly possible, as the museum catalogue reports, that the inscription originates from as-Sawdāʾ. S²ymn is in fact used as theonym to indicate ʾrnydʿ in the Sabaean texts of the post-Minaean period from that city. The god Nbʿl, written on the top of the object, might be a later add (though the style is similar to that of the main text) or due to some kind of late synchronism between divinities, perhaps as a consequence of control of Nashshān over Kamna at that period. |
