TRANSLATIONS

English

   1  Rbbm ʾḥrs¹, descendant of Ṣʿqn and Tṯʿd
   2  and his brother Hwfʿṯt, descendants of Tṯʿd,
   3  dedicated to ʾlmqh Ṯhwn Master of
   4  ʾwm this statue in bronze, by which they praised
   5  the power and the might of ʾlmqh Ṯhwn Master of ʾwm,
   6  because He granted and satisfied His servant Rbbm
   7  ʾḥrs¹, descendant of Ṣʿqn and Tṯʿd, with all
   8  the favours he sought from Him in His oracle.
   9  And may He grant and bestow to His servant Rbbm
  10  ʾḥrs¹, descendant of Ṣʿqn and Tṯʿd, the goodwill and the satisfaction
  11  and the safety of the hearts of his two lords ʾls²rḥ
  12  Yḥḍb and his brother Yʾzl Byn, the two kings of
  13  Sabaʾ and ḏu-Raydān, sons of Frʿm Ynhb, king of Sabaʾ.
  14  And may ʾlmqh Master of ʾwm continue to grant
  15  his servant Rbbm ʾḥrs¹, descendant of Ṣʿqn and
  16  Tṯʿd, all the favours he will seek from Him,
  17  his Lord ʾlmqh Master of ʾwm, in every place,
  18  far and near, in peace and in war, wherein
  19  his two lords, ʾls²rḥ Yḥḍb and his brother Yʾzl Byn, the two kings of
  20  Sabaʾ and ḏu-Raydān, sons of Frʿm Ynhb, king of
  21  Sabaʾ, order and command
  22  to his servant Rbbm ʾḥrs¹, descendant of Ṣʿqn
  23  and Tṯʿd. And may ʾlmqh Master of ʾwm
  24  grant to his servant Rbbm ʾḥrs¹ and to his brother Hwfʿṯt
  25  good luck and what has been and will be favourable to them,
  26  and male children and healthy crops;
  27  and may He deliver His vassals Rbbm ʾḥrs¹ and
  28  his brother Hwfʿṯt and their children, of the family
  29  Ṣʿqn and Tṯʿd from the maleficence, malice and the subjection to enemy.
  30  And Rbbm ʾḥrs¹ and his brother Hwfʿṯt
  31  committed their dedication to ʾlmqh Ṯhwn Master of ʾwm.
