For the dating of the inscription, cf. the palaeographic features of Bahāʾ 1. With this text, RES 4197 also shares the mention of the anthroponym S¹ydm and of the the god S¹ḥr with the epithet ḏ-Kwkbn.

2-3Höfner (and RES): ʿ[ṯtr ... ...]; other restorations are possible, e.g. ʿ[tr ... ...], ʿ[m ... ...].
3-4Höfner (and RES): w-mnḍḥ-[hmw ... ...]; a plural mnḍḥt cannot be excluded.
5Höfner (and RES): [... ... w-b-rd]ʾ ʾḫ-hw S¹ydn w-ʾdm
The reading S¹ydm, which is apparent on the KHM's photograph, was already proposed by Gajda et al. 1998, 105, on the basis of a a photo of RES 4197 provided by J. Ryckmans.
6Höfner (and RES): [-hmy ... ... w-b-]ʾnby
The plural form hmw of the pronoun cannot be excluded.
We propose the restoration w-b-ḥ](g) ʾnby, which is more plausible in this final context of a Southern Middle Sabaic inscription, on the basis of the reading of the KHM's photograph, showing part of the g sign.
