| Notes on support and decorations | Rectangular slab with a large hollow on the top, which determines two lateral merlons. Below a frieze of dentils, the inscription is placed between two lateral vessels, carved inside a recessed panel. The grooved vessels, with globular body, pointed base, high neck, convex lid with circular pommel, are decorated with concentric circle. For similar vessels see the stela of the British Museum (BM 125341). Low relief. See Pirenne 1957: 124, fig. 9 for the decoration. This kind of slab with lateral projections could be interpreted as base for a stela. |
